Page scope
Rasol is the Locality page for the village of the Parvati Valley above Chalal that gives its name to twelve accessions. The cannabis-terroir unit named after it is Rasol (appellation); the crossing to the Malana valley is Rasol Pass. The 2011 census does not enumerate the village separately.

Coordinates and elevation
- The infobox point, 32.0316, 77.2921, is the OpenStreetMap node for the village (node 9235540486, place=village), about 10 m from the accessions' village collection point (32.031692, 77.292151). SRTM gives 2,284 m there.
- The infobox range 2,277–2,600 m spans the accession pages' 2,277 m for the village site and the collection documentation's 2,600 m for the village. The documentation's own lot altitudes for the village lots are 2,400–2,800 m.
- An earlier reading (2026-08-31) took 1,690 m from an elevation service at the OSM node and set it against travel-blog figures of about 3,048 m. The SRTM reading of 2026-09-28 at the same node is 2,284 m, which agrees with the accession pages; neither the 1,690 m nor the blog figures are used.
- The field selections store 2,500–2,933 m. The documentation places Vairam at 2,600–2,900 m, Vairam Top from 3,000 m and Oridhar up to 3,000 m, while its lot notes give 3,000–3,400 m for the Vairam Top and Oridhar selections; the accession pages store 2,933 m and 2,821 m for them. Reported, not reconciled.
Source notes
- Accession types: ZOM-IND-HIM-0920220019 is named "Rasol General Population 2022" but stores
accession_type = Selection; …0020 is named "Rasol 'Village' Selection 2022" but storesGeneral population. The article follows the collection documentation's lot notes (general population gathered by charas makers; village selection by the collector) and gives no per-type counts. - The 2022 accessions store no collection date (harvest year 2022, expedition HIMA01). The three 2025 accessions store 14/10/2025 (expedition HIM25) and
field = Vairambut are filed under the Rasol appellation, while the two 2022 Vairam selections are filed under Vairam (appellation). ZOM-IND-HIM-1020250002 stores its elevation as2500without the thousands separator the others use. - Parla Thatch: the collection documentation lists "Rasol 'Parla Thatch' Selection (2022)" among Rasol's lots, but ZOM-IND-HIM-0920220025 is filed under locality and appellation Gohar. The article states both.
- Spelling: the documentation writes "Ja Fields"; the index of growing regions writes "Rasol 'Jah' Fields". The article uses Ja and notes the index's spelling.
- The documentation's summary block gives "District : Bhuntar". Bhuntar is a tehsil, not a district. The infobox
admin_3 = Bhuntar Tehsilfollows the ten Zomia accession pages. - The Tribune (2018) spells the neighbouring village "Chhalal"; the article quotes that spelling once and identifies it with Chalal.
- The Associated Press (2016) says the statue of Jamlu is taken "across the daunting mountain of Rasol"; it does not name the pass or say that the route passes through the village. The article places the report beside the resurvey's Manikaran–Rasol–Malana track without joining them.
- Rathore et al. (2018) surveyed five "randomly selected villages" (Kasol, Rasol, Pulga, Kalga and Tosh) and report the uses for the valley as a whole. The article places no single use in Rasol.
- The two Coco Genes accessions (COC-IND-HIM-0120180001 and its reproduction) carry seller descriptions from Coco Genes, Khalifa Genetics, ACE Seeds and Mandala Seeds that disagree with one another; they are reported on the accession pages and not repeated here.

- Travel blogs (travelcoffee.in, thehillgypsy.com, AllTrails reviews) giving house counts of 70 to 150, a population of about 200 and walking times from Kasol. They disagree with one another and have not been re-read.
- A 2017 feature on Rasol by 101 India (republished by Yahoo News), which describes a village of about 100 families and a cultivation site called "Meening". Read on 2026-08-31 only; to be re-verified before use.
- ETV Bharat's list of the places covered by the September 2022 Central Bureau of Narcotics operation does not name Rasol.
