Identifier
The accession identifier is RSC-PAK-KHY-0120190002-R1: the identifier of the collection, RSC-PAK-KHY-0120190002, with the reproduction suffix -R1.
Sourcing
The RSC listing for Waziri as it stood on 27 October 2026 and its 12 versions in the Wayback Machine from June 2023 to July 2026 that sell the reproduction; the Kwik Seeds listing as it stood on 26 October 2026; and the GRIN-Global entry for G 33770.
Evidentiary scope
The sources establish that the seed on sale since June 2023 comes from a reproduction, later called a maintenance grow, outdoors in northern Spain. They do not say by whom it was grown, with how many plants, or how many generations separate it from the seed bought at Toi Khullah.
Typing
- Accession type: Reproduction, autochtonous
No: the listing calls the seed the product of a reproduction and a maintenance grow in northern Spain. - Classification: Landrace, the class of the collection it was grown from.
- Sourcing type and collector are left empty: the sources do not say how many generations have been grown, and the collection's collector is not entered either.
- No coordinates. The reproduction was grown in northern Spain, which no source narrows down. The collection's place is on RSC-PAK-KHY-0120190002, so the line appears on the map once.
Photographs
The infobox image and the gallery are from the RSC listing, uploaded under fair use at reduced resolution; the listing captions none of them. The flowering top and the plants under cover are among four photographs first shown in June 2023, when the listing first sold the reproduction; the field photograph is one of four of plants beside a measuring pole first shown in September 2024. They show plants grown outside Pakistan, so they are on this page and not on the collection's; the captions describe what the pictures show. The person holding the pole is not identified and is out of frame above the shoulders.
USDA genebank accession
The U.S. National Plant Germplasm System holds Waziri seed as G 33770 (GRIN-Global entry), received on 22 August 2023 in a donation of one packet from Angus. The infobox lists it as the same lot as this accession:
- the entry is named Waziri, the listing's title, with origin Pakistan;
- the listing had sold the reproduction since June 2023, two months before the donation, and RSC lists no other Waziri line.
The entry carries no narrative. A curator's note from the unit's 2024 field trial in New York says that plants seemed likely to be susceptible to Septoria; the article does not report it.
