Discussion

Evidentiary scope

The article rests on the RSC listing for Kashmiri, the Kwik Seeds listing of the same line and RSC's blog post "Kashmiri Charas" (June 2023). Kwik Seeds is the shop RSC calls its other site (RSC, Hemp & Multipurpose). The listings say only that the seed comes from an ex situ maintenance grow of an accession collected in Azad Kashmir in 2020. They describe no plants and name no district, village or farmer. The blog post is about Kashmiri charas in general and the Kashmir Valley; the article reports it as history and does not apply it to the accession. No conservation priority has been entered; the rating is left for review. Éloise 13:42, 17 September 2026 (+07)

Georeferencing

The listings name Azad Kashmir and give a latitude of 33° N. The coordinate is the label point of Azad Kashmir in OpenStreetMap (relation 3780130, label node 316441063), rounded to two decimal places: 33.84, 73.80. OpenStreetMap places the point near Rawalakot in Poonch District. It marks the territory, not a collection site. Éloise 13:42, 17 September 2026 (+07)

Editorial treatment

  • Accession ID. RSC-PAK-AZA-0120200001 takes AZA from Azad Kashmir. The month digits are 01.
  • Province. Azad Kashmir, the name the listings use and the usual short form, entered without a suffix as Gilgit-Baltistan is; the official name is Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
  • Name and type. Kashmiri Reproduction 2020, with accession type Reproduction and autochtonous No, because the seed comes from "an ex-situ maintenance grow". No sourcing type is entered.
  • Collector. Angus ("Landrace Genetics").
  • Purposes. "Charas (sieved), Bhang" is entered as purpose Recreation and processing method Dry-sift.
  • Not entered. Height, aroma and plant characteristics, which neither listing gives, and seed viability.
  • Links. The Kashmir Valley is linked as a place whose page type is Éloïse's call, and Ladakh as a Union Territory. Srinagar is left unlinked because its title form (city or district) is unsettled.
  • Conventions. Photoperiod Short-day and introgression Minimal follow the other RSC accessions; neither listing states them. Éloise 13:42, 17 September 2026 (+07)

Source discrepancies

  • Photograph note. Only RSC says the photographs show plants of this accession at 40° N in mid-July.
  • Wording. Kwik Seeds ends with "Further details forthcoming…", which RSC carried until July 2024.

The listings otherwise carry the same text. Éloise 13:42, 17 September 2026 (+07)

Archived versions

The Wayback Machine holds 11 versions of the RSC listing, from June 2023 to April 2026, and all were read. All give the current sourcing line and describe the seed as newly produced from the maintenance grow. "Further details forthcoming…" stands until July 2024, and the note on the photographs first appears in October 2024. The June 2023 version showed only the photograph of seed. The archived versions add nothing to the article. Éloise 13:42, 17 September 2026 (+07)

Photographs

The infobox image and the gallery are four of the five photographs on the RSC listing, uploaded under fair use at reduced resolution; the fifth repeats one of them. RSC says the photographs "show plants from this accession at 40° N in mid July", so the captions of the field photographs say so. RSC masked the face of the person in each field photograph. The fourth image shows seed. Éloise 13:42, 17 September 2026 (+07)
