Evidentiary scope

The article rests on the RSC listing for Kazakh Ruderalis, the Kwik Seeds listing of the same line, RSC's Crop Wild Relatives and CBD category pages and four RSC blog posts (October 2019, November 2023, January 2025 and August 2025). Kwik Seeds is the shop RSC calls its other site (RSC, Hemp & Multipurpose). The listings place the collection in the southern Qarataū, credit a "Russian Landrace Bureau in Jambyl" and date it to 2019; they name no site or collector. The seed on sale comes from a 2023 ex situ maintenance grow. The November 2023 post places the line in "the mountains of eastern Kazakhstan"; the listings and the October 2019 post name Jambyl and the Qarataū. The history of cannabis in Central Asia and the centre-of-origin claims are RSC's; they have not been checked against other sources, and the article attributes them. Georeferencing

The listings name Jambyl, the northwestern Tien Shan and the southern Qarataū, and give a latitude of 44° N. OpenStreetMap maps the Karatau range only as a single point (node 5555922221, at 43.80, 68.67), which lies in Turkistan Region, not in Jambyl, so the range is not used. The coordinate is the label point of Jambyl Region (relation 215722, label node 974358688), rounded to two decimal places: 44.42, 72.13, in Moiynkum District. Editorial treatment

• Accession ID. RSC-KAZ-JAM-0120190001 takes JAM from Jambyl Region. The month digits are 01.
• Province. Jambyl Region, the English form OpenStreetMap uses, with the suffix used for Madagascar's regions (Diana Region).
• Name. Kazakh Ruderalis Feral Reproduction 2019, following Humla Jungli Feral Reproduction 2021.
• Classification. Feral, from RSC's "wild-type", Kwik Seeds' "feral or weedy rather than truly wild" and RSC's August 2025 "feral forms". Cultivation system type Feral describes the source stands. The lead does not call the accession a landrace, because RSC's November 2023 post says wild-type strains such as this one are not domesticates.
• Reproduction. Accession type Reproduction and autochtonous No, because the seed comes from a 2023 ex situ maintenance grow. No sourcing type is entered.
• Collector. Left blank. The listings credit a "Russian Landrace Bureau", which they do not identify further.
• Photoperiod. Day-neutral, stated in both listings and in RSC's August 2025 post; it is not the corpus convention. RSC's listing reads "very early maturing to day-neutral".
• Introgression. Unknown, because RSC says drug-type and fibre-type domesticates have been introduced extensively in Kazakhstan, and its 2023 post says the population has almost certainly exchanged genes with landraces.
• Purpose. "n/a" is entered as primary purpose and processing method N/A.
• Height. 2 to 5 m, from the versions of November 2019 to May 2025; the current listing says only that plants "can exceed 4 meters".
• Vocabulary mapping. "Heavily branched" is entered as Extensive, "leaflets are predominantly narrow" as Narrow and "large colas" as flower structure Big.

• Genetics line. RSC: "Wild-type Kazakh Cannabis". Kwik Seeds: "Ruderal Kazakh Cannabis".
• Characteristics. RSC: "Very early maturing to day-neutral". Kwik Seeds: "Very early maturing, day-neutral", RSC's November 2019 wording.
• Height. RSC has no height line; Kwik Seeds: "Variable". RSC gave "2 –5 meters" until May 2025.
• Divergence from Humulus. RSC: "some 28 million years ago". Kwik Seeds: "some 30 million years ago".
• Place. The listings and the October 2019 post: Jambyl and the southern Qarataū. The November 2023 post: "the mountains of eastern Kazakhstan".
• Only on Kwik Seeds. The feral-or-weedy characterisation, the Crop Wild Relative paragraph naming Siberian Ruderalis and the "signs of domestication".
• Only on RSC. The paragraphs on early domestication, archaeological evidence and the subspecies indica, and on classification.

• November 2019. Genetics "Pure Kazakh landrace, intermediate domestication"; "A pure Kazakh landrace collected in the northwestern Tien Shan range"; "This accession is best classified as ruderal i.e., ssp. indica var. kafiristanica". The article cites this version, of 18 November 2019.
• Classification. "C. sativa subsp. sativa var. spontanea x C. sativa subsp. indica [?]" from August 2020 to April 2021, and without the question mark from September 2021 to January 2023. The article cites the versions of 5 August 2020 and 30 January 2023.
• Height. "2 –5 meters" from November 2019 to May 2025. The article cites the version of 20 May 2025.
• Seed on sale. "New 2023 seeds" from April 2024, "from an ex-situ maintenance grow" from February 2025.

Photographs

The infobox image and the gallery are the five photographs on the RSC listing, uploaded under fair use at reduced resolution. RSC's August 2025 post uses a file byte-identical to the infobox photograph and says it shows "the Kazakh outdoors around 55° N", so its caption gives that latitude with the post's date.
