Page scope
Pulag is the Locality page for the village of the Chanderkhani valley above Naggar that gives its name to four accessions. The census enumerates it as "Up Muhal Pulag" (012741). It is a different place from Pulgi and Pulga, both in the Parvati Valley.

Discussion

Elevation

  • The collection documentation gives Pulag 2,500 m and calls it the highest village, with some fields above 3,000 m. The accession pages give 2,200 m for the village collection site (32.106022, 77.198350), which is also the OpenStreetMap node for the hamlet (node 1196595719); SRTM gives 2,243 m there. The documentation's 2,500 m matches the upper-field level: ZOM-IND-HIM-0920220007 stores 2,500 m at 32.103026, 77.199878, where SRTM gives 2,400 m. The infobox range 2,200–2,500 m spans the documented figures.
  • The feral selection (…0008) stores 2,200 m at the same coordinates as …0007, which stores 2,500 m. Not resolved here.

Source notes

  • Two lot notes in the collection documentation do not fit the accessions. "Pulag General Population 2022" reads "Collected from plants throughout the valley by locals making charas in Rumsu", and "Pulag Village Selection 2022" is typed "Selected feral landrace" while the accession page classes it as landrace. The article does not repeat either.
  • The live Pulgi page (rev 20297) describes Pulag as "an unrelated village in the main Kullu valley near Katrain". Pulag lies in the Chanderkhani valley above Naggar, about 5.6 km east of Katrain as the crow flies (OpenStreetMap nodes 1196595719 and 2624689702); a matching correction to Pulgi is proposed.
  • The accession pages store collection dates written 04/09/2023 and 05/09/2023, while the accession names give 2022. They store admin_3 = Naggar Tehsil; the census puts Pulag in Kullu tehsil.
