Discussion

Evidentiary scope

The Forest Herbarium label gives the locality as E: Nakhon Ratchasima, Pak Thong Chai, Wang Nam Kiao. (Wang Nam Khiao, Pak Thong Chai district, Nakhon Ratchasima) and the date as 29 July 1968, and leaves the altitude blank. The collector is D. Praphat, under the number 729. It describes the plant as a Cultivated herb, Common and scattered on hillside. and the catalogue gives the habitat as Common and scattered on hillside. That records cultivation, but nothing ties it to local growers: it names no people, village, local name or use. The sheet dates from 1968, which is from 1966 on, so the date does not help. Nothing shows that the plant was a local crop, so the accession is classified Unknown. No conservation priority is assigned.

Georeferencing

The label names the same place as Phengnaren 483, Wang Nam Khiao (Wang Nam Kiao) in Pak Thong Chai. The infobox uses the same OpenStreetMap point (node/13974357953) at 14.42, 101.86. This label gives no altitude; the Phengnaren label's 370 m agrees with the point's 422 m on SRTM to within 52 m. The point places the gathering to within about 5 km. The district field follows the present-day district.

Editorial treatment

The collector field uses the label form D. Praphat.

The infobox image is the Forest Herbarium's own scan of SN 009258, which the herbarium publishes with all rights reserved. It is used under fair use, with the rationale on its file page.

Source discrepancies

  • The Forest Herbarium catalogue gives the habitat as Common and scattered on hillside. The label reads Cultivated herb, Common and scattered on hillside. The article reports both.
