Discussion
Evidentiary scope
The label records a cannabis plant at 1,000 m in Hebei in August 1950. Its place was not read, and it gives no use or note on cultivation. The accession is classified Other and no conservation priority is assigned.
Label reading
Read twice, independently, from the Missouri image (2000 × 3000 pixels, through GBIF's image cache); the type is faint at that size.
- Label (printed form, traditional characters, filled in by hand): 河北省植物 / 中國科學院植物分類研究所 / 植物標本室 / 採集人及號數 劉瑛 13331 50年8月14日 / 產地 (read once as beginning 西山, once as 內… 縣 小 … 臺; not stated) / 海拔 1000m. 性狀 草本 體高 (a figure, unread) -7ft. / 花 黃綠色 / 科名 Moraceae / 學名 Cannabis sativa L. / stamp Liu Ying.
One reading found a use field reading 韌皮 (bast); the other found no use field. The use is not stated.
Georeferencing
No coordinate is asserted: the place line was not read. The province field takes Hebei, from the label's printed heading.
Editorial treatment
Image. Missouri publishes the image under CC BY-NC-SA 3.0; it is read and cited, not uploaded.
Collector. As on Talk:Liu Ying 10878 (1935), the collector field takes the stamp's Liu Ying and the name is not linked.
Date. The label writes the year as 50年; the catalogue's 1950 agrees, and the institute named on the label was founded in 1950.
Source discrepancies
- The catalogue gives no locality or altitude; the label gives 1,000 m.
