Page scope
Derg Corra Collective is an Organisation, a prose entity page. It documents the collective and what it says about its lines, not the people behind it. Lines held as seed are documented as Accessions, and the article lists them by query rather than by hand.
Sourcing
The article rests on the collective's own descriptions of its lines on the seed database SeedFinder, on the listings and information pages of the shop SeedHeaven, and on one listing of The Landrace Team. Everything taken from the descriptions and listings is the account of the collective or of the shop and is attributed as such. Discuss attribution, independent sourcing and any claim that has migrated into the wiki's own voice here.

Sources read

  • SeedFinder, read on 8 October 2026: the breeder page for Derg Corra Collective and the pages of all ten of its lines (Afghan Helmand, Aunt of Farouk, Chocolate Diesel, Danish Passion, Iraqi Pilgrim, Maroc Inspiration, Rosetta Stone, Royal Dane, Sensi Star and Viking). Each line's text is headed "Derg Corra Collective Description", and the article treats it as the collective's own account.
  • SeedHeaven (seedheaven.org), read on 8 October 2026: the category page "Derg Corra Collective" and the full text of its 14 listings, the About page and the FAQ. A notice on the site says it has moved from seedheaven.net to seedheaven.org. The Aunt of Farouk listing was also read in Wayback Machine copies at seedheaven.net of 24 October 2016 and 18 September 2020.
  • The Landrace Team: the listing "AOF (Aunt of Faouk)", read live on 8 October 2026 and in Common Crawl captures from 1 April 2020 onward.
  • Forums: the Overgrow posts found by site searches for "derg corra" and "dergcorra" (64 posts, 2018 to 2026; 15 read in full, the others from the search results only), the Overgrow thread "The Landrace Team for AOF, Shirin Gol (Derg Corra)" (topic 233969) in full, and page 2 of the Rollitup thread "The landrace team?" (thread 1014513). On ICMag, from Wayback Machine copies: "Iraqi Pilgrim" (thread 379086, December 2020 onward), both pages, captured 26 January 2024, and "Infos about Derg Corra Collectiv/ Bald Monkey" (thread 379738, January 2021 to November 2024), in full, captured 6 October 2025.
  • Other listings: THCFarmer's breeder profile, which the site says is community-listed and pending verification, and Nordland Seeds' brand page, which listed no products on 8 October 2026.
  • Not read: the Nordic Genetics shop (nordicgenetics.net), whose address did not resolve; Reddit. What these hold is unknown, and nothing in the article rests on their silence.
  • No news report, interview, company registration or scholarly mention of the collective was found.

Name

  • Derg Corra Collective is the form on SeedFinder, on SeedHeaven's category page and in most forum posts. The Landrace Team writes DergCorra Collective. The collective's own texts also use DCC (Afghan Helmand) and Derg Corra Project (Chocolate Diesel). Derg Corra Collective and Derg Corra are redirects to this page; DCC is not, because it is ambiguous.
  • No source read says where the name comes from. The domain dergcorra.com held a "coming soon" page in 2009 (Wayback Machine, five captures from 2007 to 2009); nothing ties it to the collective.

When the collective began, and where

  • No source gives a founding date, so the infobox has none. The earliest dates are in the collective's own texts: Chocolate Diesel F2 was made "in 2016 for the Derg Corra Project", and the seed of Iraqi Pilgrim was collected in the summer of 2016. SeedHeaven's shop software dates the creation of the Aunt of Farouk listing to 6 June 2016 and of five more listings to 7 June 2016; a listing can be recreated, so these date the pages, not the seed. A grower who made one of the reproductions recalled sending a description "to dergcorra/ seedheaven in 2015/2016" (Overgrow, topic 140404, post 57, 12 November 2024). The earliest forum mention found is a wish list of 19 October 2018 (Overgrow, topic 7183, post 192).
  • No page the collective or SeedHeaven controls names a country, so the infobox has no base. The collective's texts name Denmark several times: Royal Dane is "A local strain in Denmark", Pakistan Landrace was "reproduced in DK", and the seed of Afghan Helmand came home with a Danish soldier. Four forum posters place it there or nearby: "northern European, Denmark" (ICMag, thread 379086, 22 December 2020), "Dansk private Breeder Collective" (ICMag, thread 379738, 23 January 2021), Denmark (Rollitup, 20 May 2020) and "Danish or Norwegian" (Overgrow, 3 March 2023). These are posters' statements, not the collective's, and the article does not place the collective.
  • A poster on Overgrow wrote on 15 July 2026 that the collective was still active but that the shop would not ship to the United States.

People

  • The SeedFinder profile names two founders by their forum handles, and several line texts name, by handle, the growers who made the reproductions. The article names none of them and describes the collective's work at the level of the brand.

SeedHeaven and the collective

  • SeedHeaven files 14 listings under the collective's name. Not every one credits the collective: the Shirin Gol listing credits the original line to Herbaria, and the Gorila Grape listing says it was made by another producer for Seedheaven. The listings of Viking, Maroc Inspiration, Lost Skunk F2 and G Bolt f2 name the collective. The article treats a listing in the category as SeedHeaven's filing, and attributes each line text to whichever of the two carries it: the listing or the collective's description.
  • Forum posters write of the shop and the collective together (Rollitup, 2021; "Seedheaven/DG", Overgrow, 2026). No source read states the business relation between them.
  • SeedHeaven also stocks ATAO Genetics, Bald Monkey Seeds and other small brands. One Overgrow poster (3 March 2023) linked the collective with Bald Monkey Seeds and Hybrids From Hell, and an ICMag thread asks about "Derg Corra Collective/ Bald Monkey Seeds" together, labelling each line with one brand or the other (thread 379738, post 1, 23 January 2021); the collective's own text credits Hybrids From Hell with the seed of Royal Dane, and the article gives only that. The Danish Passion text says its seed came from an old batch of "HFH seeds", and the article does not expand the abbreviation.

Aunt of Farouk and The Landrace Team

  • The two sellers tell the line's origin differently. The collective: seed given by a friend, Farouk, "over the last 40 years", collected "in a small village behind his aunt and uncle's house". The Landrace Team: seed "collected by my friend since the 70's" at "his aunt and uncle's place near the indian and kashmir border".
  • Forum posters' claims about how The Landrace Team came to sell the line, and the alias "Wild Pakistan", are set out on Talk:The Landrace Team. The article reports only the credit on The Landrace Team's listing.
  • The Landrace Team also sells Shirin Gol, with no credit to the collective. No source read says that its seed came from the collective, and a poster wrote that the line came from "another obscure breeder" (Overgrow, topic 233969, post 2, 26 May 2026). The article does not connect the two.

Material left out

  • Personal details: health details about third parties in two line texts and in several forum posts, and the first names of the people said to have collected seed, other than the name that the line Aunt of Farouk carries.
  • Product claims: effects and medical uses claimed in the line texts.
  • Single posters' claims: that the collective's Nigerian landrace "might originally be a reproduction of afropips" (Overgrow, 2021); that the Afghan Helmand was once sold by Nordic Genetics (an Overgrow post pasting that shop's page, 2019); and that the collective's people were "involved" with The Landrace Team, which the poster withdrew the next year (Rollitup, 2020 and 2021).
  • Sales details: stock levels, pack sizes and the dates of individual listings.
  • A pasted chatbot answer about Aunt of Farouk on Overgrow (topic 211622, post 2388) is not a source and is not used.
