Discussion

Sources

  • The Korean Traditional Knowledge Portal's prescription entries for 大麻仁丸 (P0000712) and 小麻仁丸 (P0001696), each citing the Donguibogam (1613); the second also names its original source, the Uihagimmun (醫學入門, 1575). The weights are the portal's conversions into grams.
  • The portal's entry for the drug 麻仁 (M0001062) lists 18 related prescriptions, most of them from the Donguibogam.
  • The text of the Donguibogam itself is not cited: the portal's entries stand for it.

Is it cannabis?

  • The portal names the drug main (麻仁) and indexes it under Cannabis sativa L., Cannabis Fructus.

Title

  • Daemainhwan is the portal's romanisation of 大麻仁丸. A pill of the same name appears in Chinese formularies with other compositions; the page covers the Donguibogam formula. The Chinese-character title is a redirect.

Kind and plant part

  • Traditional medicine. Seed.
  • First recorded: 1613, the Donguibogam.
  • Still made: not known.
  • The other Donguibogam prescriptions with the seed (yunmahwan, iinwon, yunjanghwan and others) are not given pages: the portal records them, but none is named after the seed.
