Punto Rojo 2019 is a seed accession of the cannabis line that The Landrace Team (TLT) sells as Punto Rojo, under the Colombian name punto rojo. TLT calls it a pure Colombian variety from Tierradentro, which it places "South of Huila", and gives its genetics as "Pure Colombian Landrace".[1]
History
TLT says that the seed comes from Colombia, from "original colombian seeds", and was made by open pollination with as many male and female plants as possible, grown outdoors, removing weak plants while keeping as much of the line's diversity as it could. It says that the Spanish named the region Tierra Adentro ("inland") because they felt shut in by its mountains and deep canyons.[1]
The line is one of three Colombian lines in the South America section of the menu of TLT's website in an archived capture of 16 September 2019, the earliest found that names it.[2]
Growth
TLT describes two types in the line, from high and from low mountains, and three main phenotypes, all conical "like a Christmas tree", with thin leaflets in the high-mountain plants, slightly wider ones in the low-mountain plants, and pink or red pistils; it also describes purple and golden-green phenotypes. It puts the vegetative stage at 16 to 20 weeks, flowering at 12 to 16 weeks, the height at 2 to 3 m and the outdoor yield at 500 g of dried flowers a plant, and says that the plants resist fungi, pests, moisture and extreme temperatures.[1]
Aroma and effects
TLT calls the aroma fruity, with notes of incense. It says that the high-mountain plants are the more psychoactive and euphoric, and that the low-mountain plants give a psychoactive, euphoric effect with "a touch of corporal effect at the end".[1]
