Sha 436 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected at Liushutai (柳樹台), on the Lao Shan massif in Shandong, China, on 16 July 1932 by F. H. Sha for the University of Tsingtao. The Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing holds the sheet as PE 00557941[1].
Collection and locality
The label is a printed form of the herbarium of the University of Tsingtao (國立青島大學植物標本室), headed Plants of Shantung (山東省植物名錄) and completed by hand. It gives the locality 柳樹台, the habit herb, the flower colour white, the field number 436, the collector F. H. Sha and the date VII/16/1932.[2] The catalogue gives the collector, number, year and Shandong.[1]
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries several stems with narrow serrate leaflets and a flowering branch. The form names the plant Cannabis sativa L. in its notes line, and a later slip Cannabilis sativa L.[2] C. Y. Chiao had gathered cannabis on Lao Shan in 1930, at a place his label calls Niu Shu Tai: Chiao 2698 (1930).
