Set by Template:Infobox trade route on pages in Category:Trade Routes. The legal standing of the trade over the period the page covers:

Legal: no law restricted the trade.
Licensed and taxed: a state allowed the trade under licence, duty or a monopoly.
Illegal: the trade was prohibited throughout the period.
Changed over time: its standing changed within the period; the page says when and how.

Typed Text, following Property:Has site type: a Page type would link each value as though it were an article.
