Phengklai T-49897 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected around Siriphum Waterfall in Doi Inthanon National Park, Chiang Mai Province, northern Thailand, on 9 December 1984 by Chamlong Phengklai. The Forest Herbarium (BKF) in Bangkok holds the sheet as accession BKF 120550, barcode SN 116705.[1]
Collection and locality
The sheet carries the printed label Flora of Thailand, Kyoto University Botanical Expedition to Thailand, 1984–5, in co-operation with the Royal Forest Department, Bangkok, numbered 93.[2] It gives the locality as NORTHERN Chiang Mai (เชียงใหม่), Doi Inthanon (ดอยอินทนนท์) National Park. It gives the habitat as around Siriphum waterfall in hill evergreen forest, alt 1800 m. It gives the date as December 9, 1984 and the collector as Chamlong Phengklai, under the number T-49897.[2] The catalogue gives the locality as around Siriphum Waterfall.[1]
Cultivation observation
A handwritten note on the label reads Exotic herb in Maeo plantation. Fls. greenish yellow.[2]
Specimen and identification
The label names the plant Canabis sativa in the family Canabidaceae.[2] The catalogue records it as Cannabis sativa L.[1] No determiner is named. The sheet holds a small whole plant with its root.[2]
