Mukden General Population 1910 is a historical seed accession of Cannabis sativa that the United States Department of Agriculture received from Mukden (today's Shenyang), in Liaoning, China, on 2 June 1910 and numbered plant introduction (PI) 28054.[1] No seed of the lot survives. The National Plant Germplasm System, whose database carries the department's introductions, says the accession "no longer exists and can not be requested".[1]
The lot
The department's printed inventory lists the lot as hemp in a set of Manchurian field-crop seeds, each with a note on how the crop was grown: "Chinese name Howma. Grown in large quantities in Manchuria for the production of fiber. This sample comes from Mukden, Manchuria, 42° north latitude."[2]
