Huailai General Population 1925 is a historical seed accession of Cannabis sativa that the United States Department of Agriculture received from Huailai, in Hebei, China, on March 1925 and numbered plant introduction (PI) 63435.[1] No seed of the lot survives. The National Plant Germplasm System, whose database carries the department's introductions, says the accession "no longer exists and can not be requested".[1]
The lot
P. H. Dorsett, the department's agricultural explorer, collected a consignment "From the orchard area along the northern foothills near Huailai, about 1,800 feet above sea level", received in March 1925. In the printed inventory this hemp is his number 1957, Huailai, 2 February 1925, with the single word "Seeds".[2]
