Limávida General Population 1908 is a historical seed accession of Cannabis sativa that the United States Department of Agriculture received from Chile on 4 December 1908 and numbered plant introduction (PI) 24307.[1] No seed of the lot survives. The National Plant Germplasm System, whose database carries the department's introductions, says the accession "no longer exists and can not be requested".[1]

The lot

The seed came in a consignment of Chilean seeds and plants received through Jose D. Husbands of Limávida on 4 December 1908. The department's printed inventory prints his note on the hemp: "The ordinary Chile sort; about the year 1545 it was introduced by the Spanish and has been largely grown since."[2] Twenty years later the department received two more lots of Chilean hemp, from Valdivia (NPG-CHL-UNK-0019280001) and Lanco (NPG-CHL-UNK-0019280002).[3]
