Keshava Nand 312 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected by Keshava Nand, a forest ranger, at Konain in Jaunsar-Bawar in September 1890. Its label gives the local name Bhang, notes that the plant was common near villages and adds that coarse ropes were made of the bark.[1] Jaunsar-Bawar forms the hill tract of Dehradun District, Uttarakhand, India.[2] The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh holds the sheet as catalogue E00248819.[3] GBIF publishes it as occurrence 574751379.[4]
Collection and locality
The printed label is headed Flora of Jaunsar, N.-W. Provinces and ends Collected by Mr. Keshava Nand, Forest Ranger. Its locality line reads Konain. Common near villages.[1] The label gives the date as September 1890, the altitude as 7,000 feet (about 2,134 m) and the number as 312.[1]

The label gives the vernacular name as Bhang. After the locality it adds, in brackets, Coarse ropes made of the bark.[1]

The sheet carries three slender stems. The name line of the label is blank; Cannabis sativa is pencilled on the sheet below the plants.[1] The catalogue records the specimen as Cannabis sativa L.[3]
