Kartasheva s.n. is a herbarium accession of a male cannabis plant gathered in a ditch in the settlement of Aksuat, in the Mendygara raion of the Kustanai Oblast, today's Kostanay Region, Kazakhstan, on 10 August 1957 by Kartasheva, and determined by N. N. Kaden as Cannabis ruderalis Janisch. The Moscow University Herbarium holds the sheet as MW0818740.[1]
Collection and locality
The printed label is that of the Гербарий Московского университета им. Д. П. Сырейщикова (Herbarium of Moscow University named for D. P. Syreishchikov). It is completed by hand Cannabis ruderalis Janisch with the sign for a male plant, Кустанайская обл., Мендыгаринский р-н, з/с Каменск-Уральский. Канава в пос. Аксуат. Specimen and identification
The sheet carries two tall, branched plants with their roots, and an empty paper packet.[2] Kaden named the plant Cannabis ruderalis Janisch. A typed slip gives the redetermination of the sheet by E. Small of Canada Agriculture in August 1975 as Cannabis sativa L. subsp. sativa. Under it lies an earlier typed slip numbered RB 180 that names the plant Cannabis sativa L., the form of Small's annotation of 1 September 1974.[2] The catalogue files the sheet as Cannabis sativa L.[1]
