Hsia 3662 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected on a roadside south of Yülin city (Yulin), in Shaanxi (then Shensi), China, at 1,035 m on 16 July 1933 by W. Y. Hsia. The Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing holds a sheet as PE 00557955, and the Northwestern Institute of Botany in Yangling a second as WUK0001290.

Collection and locality

The field label, a typed Flora of China form of the Institute of Botany, National Academy of Peiping, gives the number H. 3662, the date July 16, 1933, the locality South of Yülin city, Shensi, the altitude 1035m., the habitat road side and the collector W.Y.Hsia. The label of the Herbarium Academiae Nationalis Pekinensis reads Shensi: South of Yülin city, July 16, 1933 and Leg. W.Y.Hsia (3662). Det. W.Y.Hsia, and two printed tags with the collector's name carry the number in pencil. The catalogue gives the collector, the number H.3662, the year and Shaanxi. The Yangling sheet carries the same form, habitat road side included, the same label and a tag with the collector's name and the number.

Specimen and identification

The sheet carries two stems with their roots, palmate leaves and small male flower clusters at the top. The herbarium label names the plant Cannabis sativa Linn., determined by the collector. The Yangling sheet carries one leafy stem with a long root and palmate leaves.
