Oro Negra 2023 is a seed accession of Oro Negra, a cannabis cross that Hyp3rids, a seed company, sells as a pack of fifteen or more regular seeds. The company gives its parents as La Perla Negra, a Mexican heirloom, and a male from its Colombian Gold Legacy Edition line (HYP-COL-UNK-0120230001).[1]
History
The earliest archived capture of the company's own page for the line was made on 28 May 2023.[1] The company says that it traced the La Perla Negra to its source and is certain that it comes from Oaxaca, and it reports that other growers it asked read the name differently, as a black-stemmed Oaxacan type, as a reference to a coastal source, or as a type from the coast of Guerrero.[1]
Growth
The company says that La Perla Negra grows like a sativa but with broader leaves, that it stays squat through flowering, and that every plant colours up to dark green and purple, with buds that turn dark purple or black. It describes dense, round buds along each branch and says that the plant is easy to grow.[1]
Aroma
The company says that the first La Perla Negra selection, the mother of its repopulation, was very sweet and floral in smell and taste, and that the other two followed it.[1]
