Gori Valley is a landrace cannabis growing area in Pithoragarh District, Uttarakhand, India, in the Western Himalayas growing region. It covers the lower valley of the Goriganga, from Munsyari down to the river's confluence with the Kali at Jauljibi. Its nine accessions were collected at Munsyari, Harkot, Madkote, Sera, Bata and Bona, in Munsyari Block and Dharchula Block, between 1,200 and 2,500 m.

Geography

The valley lies below Johar Valley, the upper Goriganga. The collection points lie within about 15 km of each other: Munsyari at 2,200 m (three accessions), Harkot at 2,040 m, Madkote at 1,200 m, Sera at 1,260 m, the two Bata points at 2,200 and 2,500 m, and Bona at 2,139 m.

Cultivation

All nine accessions are landrace general populations, each collected from many plants, and all are grown from seed kept from locally grown flower. Sera, Bona and the two Bata accessions record the crop as intercropped and semi-feral; Madkote records monoculture in rotation, and Harkot monoculture and intercropping in rotation. Six record it as broadcast-sown. Seven give a planting season of May and June and a harvest from September to November. The Sera population is made into charas. Eight record cultivation as widespread in the region.

Isabella and Roy collected seed for eight of them between 19 September and 6 October 2025, on the UTT01 expedition, to which Munsyari Mixed Bag also belongs. Seven samples are from the 2024 harvest and the Sera sample from 2025.
