Boulanger 1520 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected at Pan Lung in the Mae Sa watershed, Chiang Mai Province, northern Thailand, on 29 November 1977 by J.-P. Boulanger. Meise Botanic Garden holds the sheet as catalogue BR0000023200081.[1] GBIF publishes it as preserved specimen occurrence 2243251105.[2]
Collection and locality
The handwritten French label gives the locality as Mae Sa followed by a word partly hidden by a leaf, then Pan Lung, with the coordinates long. 98°48′; lat 18°54′ and the country Thaïlande. It gives the date as 29/11/1977, the altitude as 1000 m and the habitat as Hill Evergreen Forest.[3] The catalogue gives the locality as Mae Sa Walushed (Pan Lung).[1]
Cultivation observation
The label's observations read Plante cultivée au milieu des plants de riz des collines. Plante non en fleurs lorsque cueillie. (a plant cultivated among hill rice, not in flower when picked).[3]
Specimen and identification
A determination slip names the plant Cannabidaceae, Cannabis sativa L.[3] The catalogue records it as Cannabis sativa L.[1] The label leaves the family and name lines blank.[3]
A slip on the sheet reads Population dynamics in Cannabaceae, Leaf tissue removed for DNA, Christopher J. Grassa (ECON) - 2018/07/05, Harvard University Herbaria.[3] The sheet is stamped ACC. 1978.[3] Boulanger 1262 is an earlier gathering by the same collector in the same watershed.
