Inline tag for sentences or short claims that appear to be original research, unsourced synthesis, or speculative interpretation that has not been published elsewhere.

Reflects the project's editorial line: analytical argument and synthesis belong in Patreon longform; wiki pages report what published sources say.

Parameters

date — optional. Free text, conventionally "Month YYYY". Surfaces in the rendered tag as a muted suffix.

Behaviour

Mainspace pages tagged with this template are added to Category:Pages with original research.
Pages outside mainspace (Template, Help, News, Research, Landrace.Wiki, etc.) are not categorised, so this documentation page itself does not appear in the maintenance category.

When to use

A specific claim has no citation and reads as the editor's own synthesis or inference.
A sentence draws a conclusion across sources that none of those sources individually supports.
A claim repeats argumentation from a Patreon longform piece that has not yet been cited inline via the standard dillonYYYYx reference.

When not to use

Missing citation but the claim is a routine factual statement — use {{Citation needed}}.
Vague wording or undue praise — use {{Clarify}} or {{Peacock term}}.
Whole section is OR — pending a section-level banner; flag the worst sentence inline for now.
