Usage
The Locality infobox marks the settlement tier of the geographic ladder (Growing Area → Locality → Appellation). A Locality page is the settlement itself; the cannabis-terroir unit named after it stays at its own (appellation) page. SMW here emits the page's parents (growing area, region, admin overlay); accessions point at this page through Has locality, which the map and the accession count read.

Hierarchy and geography parameters take plain page names without brackets; the template links them and stores the plain value in SMW. settlement_type takes one of: Village, Hamlet, Seasonal settlement, Town. population and population_year are display-only (no SMW property yet); use census figures only, and leave blank where the settlement is not separately enumerated. appellations is a display-only list of wikilinks pending an up-link parameter on {{Infobox Appellation}}.
Numeric quantity parameters
All quantity-valued parameters take plain integers. The template appends units at display time and stores them as SMW Quantity properties for query, banding and filtering.

Do not include units, tildes or commas in the value. For ranges, fill both min and max; if equal, display collapses to a single value.
Place facets. The template also stores Has place type = Locality, and copies Has continent and Has subregion from the page named in country, reading that country page's stored values with #show. Nothing needs to be entered for them.
