Discussion

Evidentiary scope

The label catalogue entries a line kept in office pots in Bogotá for four years, from seed it says came from Palmira, and two plants of its last sowings, one female and one male. Seed raised away from its source is Other (seed sent from elsewhere), by inference from the catalogue. The label says nothing about the plants at Palmira. No conservation priority is assigned.

Georeferencing

No point is given. The label names Bogotá and no place within it; Bogotá is a capital district at the level of a department, so the district is the finest place named. GBIF's point for catalogue 125226, 4.598056, −74.075833 with 1,134 m, is the city's central point, not a place the label names, and is not used. Palmira, the seed's source, is named in the prose and not mapped: the plants were not gathered there.

Editorial treatment

Title. With no collector number (catalogue 125227 gives sn., 125226 none), the title takes the surname, s.n., the place and the year.

Two sheets. The two catalogues share the collector, the date and the note, and are treated as one gathering. Catalogue 125226, with the fuller note, is given first.

Elevation. Catalogue 125227 gives an elevation of 1,350 m, which is far below Bogotá (about 2,600 m) and may be Palmira's; it is not used.

Source discrepancies

  • Catalogue 125227's elevation of 1,350 m does not fit Bogotá and is left out of the infobox.
