Discussion

Evidentiary scope

The page rests on the strainguide entry Malana, read through its Wayback capture of 29 January 2008. The entry gives a name and a map point only. It does not say that the collective held seed of the line, where seed came from or when. Éloise 22:11, 12 October 2026 (+07)

Georeferencing

The entry's point, "32.4,77.16,4", reverse-geocodes in OpenStreetMap (6 October 2026) to Manali, Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh. That is about 39 km north-northwest of Malana village (OpenStreetMap node 756382662). It fails the check, so it is recorded here, attributed to the strainguide, and not entered. The point 32.06, 77.26 is the village of Malana itself, OpenStreetMap node 756382662. It places the line at the village the entry names, not at a spot within it, and lies within about 3 km of the point on the Malana Valley page. Basis: settlement point. Uncertainty: about 3 km. Editorial treatment

  • Accession ID. VIB-IND-HIM-0100000001: VIB; IND; HIM, Himachal Pradesh; 01; 0000, no collection year being stated; 0001.
  • Place fields. District, growing region and growing area follow the village the entry names, as on the other Malana accessions.
  • Descriptive name. Another holder's Malana collection carries the same descriptive name; the accession IDs tell them apart. Éloise 22:11, 12 October 2026 (+07)
