Sources
- Park facts. The 308.2 km² extent and the rainfall of about 1,524 mm are the figures given by Hemachandra and colleagues (2023) in their study-site description; other sources give other areas for the park.
- Enforcement. The 2019, 2024 and 2026 raids are from News 1st, the Sunday Times and the Sri Lanka Army's own news page.
Where the sources disagree
- Which reserve. The June 2024 report places its plantations in the Hambegamuwa Forest Reserve; the army's April 2026 report places its raid, with the Hambegamuwa police, "inside the Udawalawe Reserve". Neither says whether the two names cover the same ground.
- The district. The collector's documentation gives the district as Ratnapura with the province as Uva; the accessions give Monaragala District, Uva Province, which the collection coordinates support.
