Evidentiary scope
The catalogue gives a route, a range of dates and a number. It records no habitat, no use and no note on cultivation. The accession is classified Other. A single gathering does not establish a landrace or a continuing population, and no conservation priority is assigned.
Georeferencing
No point is given. The catalogue names a route between two towns, Bhadrar to Kishtvar: Bhaderwah, OpenStreetMap node 245773671, in Doda District, and Kishtwar, node 245773899, in Kishtwar District, 37 km apart. Other herbaria's sheets of the same set date the stage from Bhadrar to Kishtvar to 23 July 1856 and put the brothers near Kishtvar on 27 July. The plant was gathered somewhere on that route, which crosses two districts; no source places it more closely. Bhadrar as Bhaderwah is the Melbourne herbarium's reading of the name on another sheet of the set.
Editorial treatment
Title. The title takes the number the catalogue gives, 3456, and the year.
Date. The range runs from 23 to 26 July 1856; the field stores the month.
Collector. The catalogue gives Hermann von Schlagintweit (H.A.R.v.); the collector field gives the surname only, as on the other Schlagintweit pages, until the label is read.
Image. The museum publishes an image of the sheet, but its image server answered every route tried with a browser check and GBIF holds no copy. No image of the sheet was read for this page; its values are the holder's catalogue's. The label should be read when the image can be reached.
