Discussion
Evidentiary scope
The page rests on the archived versions of the RSC listing for Chitrali that gave this sourcing year. The listing's sourcing line names four harvests in turn — 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2021 — and each is a separate collection from the Chitral region. The versions establish the year, the valley and the description RSC gave while this stock was on sale. They name no village or farmer, and they do not say how the collections relate to one another beyond the region. No conservation priority is entered; the population's current rating is on RSC-PAK-KHY-0120210001. Éloise 04:02, 18 September 2026 (+07)
Editorial treatment
- Accession ID.
RSC-PAK-KHY-0120180001, the corpus grammar with this collection's year. - Same population. The other three Chitral collections are entered in
same_population_accessions. Each of the three new pages names all its siblings, so the 2021 page, which was already live, shows them without being edited. - Description. Only from versions that offered this stock. The four lots share most of the listing's wording, which changed little between them; where a version says something particular to its own stock it is reported on that page and cited to that version.
- Photographs. None. The images on RSC-PAK-KHY-0120210001 are captioned to particular years or places and none belongs to this lot. Éloise 04:02, 18 September 2026 (+07)
Georeferencing
The coordinate 36.30, 72.50 is the Chitral point entered on RSC-PAK-KHY-0120210001, and all four Chitral collections take it. The 2015 and 2018 sourcing lines name the Yarkhun Valley specifically, which is narrower than this point; a valley point would be more precise and is left for a pass that can georeference it properly. USDA genebank accession
The U.S. National Plant Germplasm System holds this seed as G 33695 (GRIN-Global entry), received on 22 August 2023 in a donation from Angus. The infobox lists it as the same lot as this accession:
- the donor narrative on the entry, "Collected Winter 2018 in Mastuj Tehsil, Chitral District", gives the harvest the listing gives ("2018 harvest");
- it places the collection "at the junction of the Yarkhun and Laspur valleys", which agrees with the listing's Yarkhun Valley;
- the entry's own name is "Chitral 2018", and the wiki's other Chitrali lots are 2015, 2019 and 2021.
The entry's collector field is not used as evidence. GRIN enters Angus as collector on every accession of this donation, including lines whose narratives name another collector or none. The narrative names Mastuj Tehsil, which the article does not give; adding it to the infobox is left for a pass that can place it properly. The entry carries measurements from the unit's 2024 field trial in New York; the article does not report them. Éloise 05:57, 4 October 2026 (+07)
