Why the area is on the map
- Xinhua (September 2026): Qingshui is "a core main producing area of hemp growing in Gansu Province and indeed the whole country", with traditional hemp growing on which the county is building.
- The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Institute of Bast Fiber Crops): Qingshui dama (清水大麻) among the local varieties that made up most of China's hemp crop.
Growing status
The status is Active: Xinhua reports the harvest of 2026.
How the border is drawn
- The border follows Qingshui County of Tianshui, Gansu, as mapped in OpenStreetMap (relation 2697473, read 21 October 2026).
- The elevation and land-cover rules used for other hubs take out less than 0.5% of the county, so the border is the county's own line.
- Check points inside the border: Qingshui. Outside it: central Tianshui.
The name
The page takes the name of the county, Qingshui County (清水县), with the word "County" because the bare name is shared by other places in China.
Which Qingshui
The institute's report names the variety Qingshui dama without a province. The page takes it to be the hemp of Qingshui County, Gansu, which Xinhua describes as a county with a tradition of hemp growing; the report does not say so itself.
