Evidentiary scope

The catalogue gives a route, a year and a number. It records no habitat, no use and no note on cultivation. The accession is classified Other. A single gathering does not establish a landrace or a continuing population, and no conservation priority is assigned.

Georeferencing

No point is given. The catalogue names a stretch of country between Chicomba (OpenStreetMap relation 11162248, a municipality of Huíla) and a Quepungo R.. No river of that name was found in OpenStreetMap or Wikidata; the nearest name is the town of Quipungo (node 1947726366), whose distance from the middle of Chicomba municipality is about 86 km. The plant was gathered somewhere on that stretch, which no source places more closely.

Editorial treatment

Collector. English Wikipedia's Diana and Antoinette Powell-Cotton were English sisters who worked together as anthropologists; the catalogue's initial A. fits Antoinette (1915–1997), but the page gives the catalogue's form only.

Image. No image of the sheet was read for this page; its values are the holder's catalogue's. The garden's published image is a 480 × 640 thumbnail, and the full view requires a Tropicos account.

Sources not yet read

The sheet's label at full size: the catalogue's R. Que. may be a truncated word, and the label may name the river or the place more clearly.
