Dating

The press note quoted by ANI says the car was intercepted "On 12th October 2026". ANI's opening line says "on Tuesday", which was 13 October 2026, the date of the ANI report. The stored date follows the press note.

Source discrepancies

Point ANI The Hindu
Value "Rs 1.78 crore", with "a market value of Rs 3.17 crore" "₹3.17 crore"
Vehicle an Innova, hired as a "self-drive rental car" "an SUV"
Men "two persons from another state" "both from Keralam"

The item follows ANI, which carries the press note. Neither value is stored.

Attribution

ANI says the men "purchased ganja at a low price from an unidentified person" in Odisha and meant to sell it in Kerala; these are the men's statements to police as given in the press note. The Hindu says the ganja "was being transported from Odisha to Keralam through Bengaluru" and attributes the report to the Bengaluru Police Commissioner at a press conference.

Place

The report is datelined Bengaluru. The interception was near the Eidgah Ground at Kambipura, and neither outlet names the district. The district stored, Bengaluru Urban, is the one OpenStreetMap gives for Kambipura. ANI spells the police station "Kumbalagodu" and The Hindu "Kumbalgodu".

Map pin

Wikidata's item for Kambipura (Q10776074) carries no coordinates. The pin is OpenStreetMap's point for Kambipura, rounded to two decimals, and marks the place, not the Eidgah Ground.

Sources not used

The Hindu article was read only in its opening paragraphs. A further outlet's headline giving the value as ₹3 crore was not read.
