Dating

The NDLEA statement (statement of Sunday 13 September 2026) gives no date for the arrests at Ovom. The other reports of it read (Sahara Reporters, ThisDay, PR Nigeria, Voice of Nigeria, Freedom Online, Nairametrics and Blueprint, all of 13 or 14 September) give none either. The stored date is the date of the statement.

Source discrepancies

Blueprint (article of 14 September 2026) says the eldest suspect is 90: "A 90-year-old grandmother, Godwoman Gboriye, has been arrested". The NDLEA statement says "a 70-year-old woman", as do Vanguard, Sahara Reporters, ThisDay and Freedom Online. This news item follows the statement and Vanguard.

Map pin

Ovom has no gazetteer point of its own, so the pin is the point for Yenagoa and not the place of the arrests.

The statement reports operations in several states. The Ondo seizure in it is recorded at NDLEA recover 186 kg of skunk from a car at a residence on Ijoka Road in Akure and the Kaduna seizure at NDLEA arrests a woman with 369.6 kg of cannabis at Gonin Gora in Kaduna State.

These notes were recorded when the news item was prepared. Éloise 05:44, 9 October 2026 (+07)
