The authority has since presented the two permits at stops of a Cannabis Special Permit Islandwide Tour, which have no news items of their own. At the stop at the Addison Park Sports Complex in Brown's Town, St Ann, on Friday 25 September 2026, the authority's Senior Director of Operations, Shandel Hannam, described the permits as "recently implemented". He said the transitional permit gives individual farmers "a two-year window to build out their operations to meet full regulatory standards", with no application or permit fees, and requires applicants to have "access to at least half an acre of land". He said the community permit lets groups from traditional cultivation communities "cultivate up to 10 acres of cannabis cooperatively".
