Discussion

Title

  • La Cominera is also the name of a place in the municipality of Corinto, so the title takes the qualifier.

Origin of the name

  • The 2011 wire report quotes an unnamed researcher who said the seed "is named for the Colombian village where it grows", without naming the village. No other source on the page explains the name.
  • Reprints of the same AFP story differ: one gives the Dutch-seed statement to the researcher, another to the head of a farm. They are one report, not several.

Native or imported

  • The police list calls cominera native; the 2011 report calls it a seed modified in the Netherlands.
