Evidentiary scope
The labels give the collector, place, month and identification but no habitat, cultivation status, local name or use. The accession is classified as Other. It does not establish a continuing population, a feral population, a landrace or a living germplasm holding. No conservation priority is assigned.
Georeferencing
The handwritten label names Simla. The printed slip Punjaub Salt Range Plants is the heading under which Fleming's herbarium was presented to Edinburgh in 1891. It appears on his 1849 sheets from the Simla hills too: E00235287 (Mahasu forest near Simla, June 1849) and E00670780 (Simla, Octr 1849) carry the same printed slip beside handwritten labels in the same hand. The heading is therefore not read as the locality of this sheet.
The infobox uses present-day Shimla, Shimla District and Himachal Pradesh. The label names the station, not a collection point, so the coordinate is Shimla's own point in OpenStreetMap (node 316417040), 31.10, 77.17, used as a locality georeference rather than as a reconstructed collection point.
Entered under R1 of the coordinate ruling of 18 September 2026, which georeferences a historical accession to the place its label names, at two decimal places, with the mapped object named above. Editorial treatment
The place name has also been read as beginning Pind-, a reading that would point to the Salt Range town of Pind Dadan Khan. At full resolution the word reads Simla. Its capital is the crossed long s that the same hand uses in sativa on this label, followed by four minims, a looped l and a; the dot of the i is set late, over the fourth minim. The same form of Simla is written on E00670780.
The title keeps the label's spelling, Simla, as naming reference §8A does for other s.n. titles; the infobox uses the present-day name. The label credits Dr. Fleming and the catalogue gives Andrew Fleming; the collector field uses the initials form A. Fleming. The 1891 presentation records custody and is not used as a date.
