Evidentiary scope
Coco Genes' own product listing (Wayback capture, 16 January 2021; two later captures on file, 27 June 2022 and 20 May 2024) is the primary source for place, coordinates and altitude. Independent corroboration comes from Overgrow forum posts naming Coco Genes as the supplier of "Arakku Valley" / "Araku Valley" seed. A separate, unrelated first-hand Araku grow log exists on Overgrow (topic "First grow in central India - araku") describing personally collected material with no Coco Genes attribution at all; it is not used here, since it documents a different, unconnected line. The listing states 18.3273° N, 82.8775° E. OpenStreetMap Nominatim reverse geocoding of this point returns "Araku Valley, Alluri Sitharama Raju, Andhra Pradesh" — the place the listing names. A forward search for "Araku Valley, Andhra Pradesh" returns 18.3234420, 82.8805825, about 1 km from the stated point (OpenStreetMap, 18 September 2026). - Descriptive name. "Araku Valley General Population 2020" follows the `<Line> General Population <Year>` collection-page pattern. The year is the ID's identifier year, taken from the listing's Season category — not an assertion that collection happened in 2020.
- Collection date. Left empty. A Season-category year populates the ID but not `collection_date`, because no source states when the seed was actually collected.
- Elevation. Entered as 951 m: the listing gives this as the site's own stated altitude, not a growing-conditions range, matching the treatment of a single site figure on other Coco Genes accessions.
- Locality. Entered as "Araku Valley" — the place named in both the listing and the forum posts; no more specific settlement is stated.
- Spelling. The listing spells the valley "Arakku"; the canonical/OSM form is "Araku." Both are used verbatim where quoted; the accession ID, infobox and wikilinks use "Araku" throughout.

Source discrepancies
- Place specificity. Coco Genes' own listing: "Arakku is located in the northeast hilly belts of Andhra Pradesh ... a valley in Eastern Ghats occupied by different tribes," with coordinates and altitude given. Independent Overgrow posts naming Coco Genes as the supplier ("I do have some pure seed stock from cocogenes," Soiltech, 18 August 2025; "The Araku beans are from Cocogenes, sourced direct from the region," Soiltech, 25 September 2025) describe the line only as an "India regional variety" from Araku Valley, without naming the state. The two do not conflict; they differ only in specificity, and both are recorded on the article.

Three Wayback captures of the cocogenes.com product page are on file: 16 January 2021 (cited), 27 June 2022 and 20 May 2024. They have not been compared word for word; no discrepancy between them has surfaced in the material read. cocogenes.com has answered 403 since approximately 10 February 2025, so the live URL is not the readable copy.
