Scope
- Extent. None of the sources read gives the limits of the Buxa duar. The border follows the Kalchini block (OpenStreetMap relation 10360507), with the Jaldapara and Chilapata polygons taken out, which leaves two parts. Hunter (1876, p. 270) places Alipur "in the Baxá Dwár", so the duar reached beyond the block to the south-east. Bose's "low-land country to the South" (p. 193) gives no limit either.
- Modern places. OpenStreetMap has Buxaduar village (node 1478619253, 26.732 N 89.562 E), Kalchini, Hasimara and Hamiltonganj inside the Kalchini block.
- Coordinates. 26.70, 89.41 is a map centre inside the area, not a surveyed point.
- Elevation. 109–124 m is the range of the accessions' recorded altitudes (Hamiltonganj 109 m; Hasimara 124 m).
- Field narrative. No published field report covers the June 2025 collections at Kalchini, Hasimara and Hamiltonganj. The article gives no cultivation section until one does.
Appellation (October 2026)
The page moved from Buxa Duar, a growing area, to Buxa Duar (appellation), in the Alipurduar growing area. The border is now one piece: the Kalchini block and the part of Buxa Tiger Reserve in the Alipurduar-I block (OpenStreetMap relation 9474965), less the Jaldapara and Chilapata appellations, about 590 km². The reserve's strip in Alipurduar-I joins the two parts of the Kalchini block.
