A small number of major QTL clusters underpin cannabinoid and monoterpene diversity in Cannabis sativa
SSRN
Maps quantitative trait loci for major cannabinoids and terpenes in an F2 population of 155 female plants from a cross between a CBD-dominant and a THC-dominant landrace with contrasting monoterpene compositions. The plants were propagated clonally and phenotyped in two protected cropping environments. Four major cannabinoids were controlled by a single locus on chromosome 7 and six abundant monoterpenes by a single locus on chromosome 5, and expression analysis of glandular trichomes from both parents pointed to cannabinoid and terpene synthase candidate genes near the peak markers. The abstract does not name the two landraces.
