Cannabinoid Profiling of Cannabis sativa L. Samples from Different Regions of Nigeria Using Chromatographic Techniques
SSRN
Profiles six cannabis samples obtained through the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency from five Nigerian geopolitical zones by TLC, HPLC and GC-MS. The abstract lists Kaduna with two farm-cultivated samples and one trafficker-confiscated sample, which with one each from Adamawa, Edo, Enugu and Ondo makes seven, not the six it reports. HPLC detected 33 compounds in total, with cannabinoid content from 17.41 mg/g in the Ondo sample to 30.54 mg/g in the Edo sample, and the authors report significant chemical heterogeneity between regions. GC-MS found no cannabinoids in the Kaduna farm sample or the Adamawa sample, which the authors attribute to technique limits at low concentrations. The study is a preprint with six samples.
