Cyprus Customs find about 28 kg of cannabis in 26 packages in a 19-year-old's luggage from Thailand at Larnaca airport

Politis reported that customs officers at Larnaca airport seized about 28 kilograms of cannabis on Friday 23 October from two suitcases belonging to a 19-year-old passenger who had travelled to Cyprus from Thailand via Dubai. An X-ray examination raised suspicions, and officers found 26 airtight packages, after Customs Headquarters had received information about a possible attempt to bring drugs into Cyprus. The drugs were handed to D.A.O.E./YKAN to identify the intended recipients, and Interpol is expected to be informed.
