NDLEA Delta State Command reports 36.2 hectares of cannabis farms destroyed since July 2025

The Guardian reported that the Delta State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, at a press briefing in Ogwashi-Uku on 15 September 2026, presented its results for the period from July 2025. Commander Halilu Hamidi said the command had destroyed 36.2 hectares of cannabis farmland in three operations: 10.2 hectares at Emu-Obiogo in Ndokwa West on 15 August 2025, 11 hectares at Obiaruku in Ukwani on 10 May 2026 and 15 hectares at Orogun in Ughelli North on 12 May 2026. The command also reported seizing about 1,388 kg of cannabis and 81 kg of cannabis seeds over the period, and put the street value of all drugs seized at more than two billion naira.
