Hung Yen police break up a group that grew cannabis indoors and sold 59 kg online

Viet Nam News reported that the drug crime investigation division of Hung Yen provincial police, working with the Ministry of Public Security, broke up a group that grew cannabis in enclosed systems at rented premises in Hung Yen and Hanoi. Provincial police, whose account was published on 14 September 2026 without a date for the operation, said the group bought seeds through social media and sold the dried product through online channels and courier services. According to police, the group sold 59.19 kg of cannabis between February and June 2026 and held a further 14.508 kg for sale, and a cultivation system was found in Ha hamlet, Phung Cong commune. Five suspects were arrested and prosecuted for trafficking and for growing plants containing narcotics.
