ANF reports seizing 272.15 kg of drugs in seven operations, 240.2 kg of it cannabis

The Daily Independent reported on 12 September 2026 that the Anti-Narcotics Force had arrested eight suspects and recovered 272.15 kg of narcotics worth more than 223 million rupees in seven operations across Pakistan. According to the agency spokesperson the cannabis seized was 180 kg of hashish from a vehicle near the Baleli check post in Quetta, 24 kg from a vehicle near Bara Chowk in Khyber, 12 kg from two suspects near the motorway toll plaza in Islamabad, 24 kg hidden in a refrigerator at a courier office on Samungli Road in Quetta and 200 g of herbal cannabis near Bahria Town in Islamabad, which together amount to 240.2 kg. The remainder was 30 kg of opium near Dalbandin in Chagai district and 1.95 kg of methamphetamine concealed in dry fruit at a courier office in Quetta.
