Police seize 1,122.67 kg of marijuana in 52 sacks at Baketar in Udayapur and arrest three

The Himalayan Times reported that police acting on information about marijuana being moved through the Shantiban forest area of Baketar searched the area at around 4 am on 31 August 2026 and found 52 sacks of marijuana in plastic bags concealed in the jungle, weighing 1,122.67 kilograms. A team from the Area Police Office, Katari carried out the search, in Katari Municipality-6, Udayapur district. Police also seized a Bolero vehicle and arrested three men from Tapli Rural Municipality-1 in Udayapur, whom they suspect of being the driver and traffickers. No valuation was given.
