ANF reports seizing 392.48 kg of drugs in eight operations across Pakistan
The Daily Independent reported that the Anti-Narcotics Force announced on 31 August 2026 that it had arrested seven suspects and recovered 392.48 kg of narcotics worth more than 48.2 million rupees in eight operations in cities across Pakistan. According to the agency spokesperson the cannabis component of that total was 36 kg of hashish taken from a vehicle near Jacobabad, 21.6 kg near Janjal Goth in Karachi, 7.2 kg from a motorcycle rider in Sheikhupura, 3.6 kg from a rickshaw near Peshawar Ring Road and one kilogram of herbal cannabis near the Jamshoro toll plaza, which together amount to 69.4 kg. The remainder of the announced total was 300 kg of opium near Hazarganji in Quetta, 2.2 kg of opium in Sheikhupura, 20.65 kg of methamphetamine and 230 g of heroin recovered from the abdomen of a passenger at Peshawar airport. Cases were registered under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act 1997 and the spokesperson said investigations were continuing.
