Summary
Hemp harvest and retting: bundles of hemp stalks are stood in stooks to dry while workers lift retted hemp from a water-filled pit (Estrazione della canapa dal macero). Wall painting by Guercino and his workshop, 1615–1617, from the "red room" or room of landscapes of Casa Pannini, now in the Civica Pinacoteca il Guercino at Cento.
Used as the hero image on Italy.
