Farges s.n., Chengkou is a herbarium accession of Cannabis from the district of Tchen-kéou-tin (Chengkou), in eastern Szechwan, now Chongqing, China, collected by the abbé Farges. The Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris holds the sheet as P06781390.[1]
Collection and locality
The printed museum label reads Herb. Mus. Paris. and Plantes de Chine. (Su-tchuen oriental.) District de Tchen-kéou-tin. M. l'abbé Farges.; there is no other label.[2]
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries a slender single stem with its root, a few palmate leaves and open flower clusters at the top.[2] The catalogue names it Cannabis L.[1] Farges also gathered hemp grown for its oil seed in the same district: Farges 198 (s.d.).
