Zhukova of the Barguzin soil and botanical party of the Amur Expedition. Its label names it Cannabis ruderalis. The Moscow University Herbarium holds the sheet as MW0062820.[1]
Collection and locality
The printed label is that of the Museum Botanicum Academiae Scientiarum Petropolitanae (Botanical Museum of the Academy of Sciences, St Petersburg) and of the Баргузинская почвенно-ботаническая партия командированной по Высочайшему повелению Амурской Экспедиции (Barguzin soil and botanical party of the Amur Expedition, sent by imperial command). (Transbaikal Oblast, basin of the Barguzin) followed by У горячего ключа, вблизи р. Аллы. (at the hot spring, near the river Alla), and the date 1911. VIII-20.; the collector's name is printed, Собр. А Жукова. A violet stamp marks it as from the Academy's herbarium, and a determiner's signature in violet ink follows Опр.. A pencilled note beside the label repeats the day and the hot spring.[2] The catalogue gives the collector, the number, the date, the locality and a point.[1]
Specimen and identification
The sheet carries two long stems: one bare, with a few leaves at its foot, and one with leafy and flowering branches along its length.[2] The label names the plant Cannabis ruderalis; the determiner's signature is read by the catalogue as V. Kuvaev, and the catalogue files the sheet as Cannabis sativa var. ruderalis (Janisch.) S.Z.Liou.[2][1]
