Zambatis GZ1054 is a herbarium accession of Cannabis sativa collected at Pretoriuskop in Mpumalanga, South Africa, on 21 January 2015 by G. Zambatis. The National Herbarium (PRE) holds the sheet as PRE0990255-0.[1][2] The Skukuza Herbarium (SANParks) catalogues the same gathering twice more, under the vernacular Dagga.
Collection and locality
Pretoria's entry gives the locality as Kruger National Park. Pretoriuskop. My Acre of Africa. Landscape: 19., the habitat as Disturbed building site. and the altitude as 424 m.[1]
Field description
The database's plant description reads Plant height: 1.5 m. Erect plant. Leaves with 5-8 leaflets. The leaf margins are serrated. Stems are ridged. The midvein of the leaflets are yellow. Leaves are opposite and they have a long petiole.[1]
The park herbarium own entries
The Skukuza Herbarium holds two entries for the same collector, number and date, at My Acre of Africa, at building site. with the habitat Open woodland. They differ from one another in who determined the plant, G. Zambatis on one and M. C. Makgakga on the other, and each carries the vernacular name Dagga. Neither entry gives a catalogue number.[2]
Specimen and identification
All three entries file the plant as Cannabis sativa L. var. sativa.[1][2]
